Europe and its borders
|
What is the future of citizenship in our contemporary world? This key question has been the focus of many interesting debates during last years. European space, more specifically, has often been seen as the laboratory of new post-national experiences. The book by Enriga Rigo takes a significantly different view: the Author, in fact, sees Europe starting from its borders in order to better understand what does it mean European citizenship. Through an analysis of classical doctrines about territorial belonging, the Author sees the changes in European borders as sign of a more widespread change in the relationship between rights, politics, and space. European citizenship is therefore a problematic concept, a battleground where issues are currently played that are essential for our future. |
