Waiting for the enemy
|
Enemy is one of the most powerful figures of modernity. He is the threat of invasion, an outside projected into our “homes” to waste them – but at the same time, rather contradictorily, is an inwardness hold in hostage, ambivalent and therefore epitomizing the insecurity of the everyday life. This collection of essays provides a growing discourse about the enemy and the semantic aura it takes – since we lack a history of hostility, which could give an insight on our complex relationship with a real or often imaginary opponent. |
