Places and locations tell us stories: this is the suggestion which inspired Silvia Albertazzi in her exploration of fictional (and real) places as frames which define the main characters of a novel – or indeed of a life – often displaced and in search of an identity. A fascinating journey from the London of Dickens to the postcolonial migrations, from the Brooklyn of the brownstones to the gentrified town of the end of XXth century, till the invisible town of contemporary fantastic fiction: all these places are the unexpected outcome of an aimlessly wandering which must end into this world – the one we really know.
